It’s about 15-20 mins walk from Sat market area to beach at Playa Flamenca and La Zenia. Beaches are very good, however the beach bar c/w toilets on all beaches in the region are currently closed due to licensing dispute with the authorities. It is not known whether they will be opening up again for the summer - I would like to think and hope so, as they do bring some vibrancy and a break from lying in the searing heat of the sun!
If you are mobile enough to walk along uneven paths, there is a great coastal walk from La Zenia down to Cabo Roig - I would guess its close on 2 miles, but is well worth it for the stunning sea views and when you get to Cabo Roig there are a couple of bars/cafes on the quayside of the harbour, where you will be able to buy refreshing drinks and food!
Enjoy your holiday, make sure that you apply plenty of sun cream if doing the coastal walk, as the light sea breeze, though very welcoming, disguises the fact that the sun is extremely hot and will burn!!

We did that exacto walk yesterday but we walked to zenia boulevard first then zenia beach to cabo roig and back towards the boulevard . You'e so right the breeze was amazing and made it a very comfortable walk , fortunately I've got olive skin so I haven' burned but I ended up with strap marks
