Last summer my daughter and I came to stay in our holiday home. Only just realised that whilst my passport shows an exit stamp hers does not. Difficult to understand as we were in the departure queue together. We are hoping to fly out again in July.  Are we likely to experience problems on entering Spain, be fined or not allowed into the country?

The Foreign and Commonweath office advises UK nationals in such circumstances that they should carry proof of their previous departure, for example, boarding pass, e-ticket etc. The responsibility rests with the passenger to prove to border personnel that they left the country within the specified period.

The good news is that the EU will be introducing a computerised system, hopefully later this year, which will automatically record passengers entry and exit. More information can be found by clickingbonnthe following link:

Thank you for the information. We will try to recover as much documentation as we can. Difficult to understand how her passport was missed.
