We are moving from Chorley to an apartment in Punta Prima in early June, and need various things sorting.

Can anyone please recommend a firm to quote and fit Awnings on roof solarium.

Also someone to fit a safe.

Also where can we buy beds and furniture locally to Punta Prima.

Would be nice to have some friendly British contacts nearby also, for further advice on the area, restaurants etc.

Many thanks if you can help us out.

Ian and Christine

I bought my furniture in JYSK and is always very busy when I have gone in.  I bought my table, display unit, coffee table, tv unit, king sized bed and bedside units there recently.  They are extremely helpful and reliable.  Most of the furniture is flat packed. The store can be found at the Punta Prima roundabout next to MacDonalds across from the Punta Prima hotel.  This is on the N332.  I also bought my settees in Conforama in the La Zenia Boulevard.  The bed and settees are taking a bit longer to be delivered.  I don't know about sun screens but hope to buy some in the future.  If you find a reliable and value for money supplier and fitter please let me know.  Bedding and towels etc were bought in Primark which is also in the La Zenia Boulevard.  They are reasonable quality.  Found that the cream towels I bought though lost their colour and faded although they are good quality so I dont mind.  Electrical goods I bought from Media Markt.  and the store can be found in the La Zenia Boulevard.  I intend to buy cooker, fridge and washing machine from here.

If you like Ikea coaches are run by Rosatours regularly to the shopping centre in Murcia.  I had originally booked a trip but it was cancelled due to it being a Spanish holiday.  I am not disappointed though with the furniture I have bought from the above store.

I am not a resident and my Townhouse in Playa Flamenca is a holiday home but there are a number of forums on facebook where you can chat to local residents and they organize outings etc to meet up.  Also there are a few buy and sell forums.

Hi Ian and Christine

We moved to Villamartin last July and have recently purchased and moved into our house. The house was unfurnished so we have had to buy everything and have visited pretty much every furniture shop in the area ( that's what it feels like anyway!). We bought sofas from the sofa factory just off the N332 and beds from the bed shop next to the bed specialist in LA Zenia.  Garcia in Torrevieja is good for everything. Towels, bedding etc can be got from Primark or check out Playa Flamenca sat market. Also New 2 You have a good selection of both new and used furniture and are great for soft furnishings and kitchen utensils etc.

My husband and I are both in our fifties and enjoy eating out, live music, pub quizzes, playing cards, reading  and socialising in general. Also Les is a golfer.

If you fancy meeting up for a drink and a chat once you are here we could talk you through all our experiences. If interested send us a private message and we can send you our email address.

Good luck with your move

Ros and Les
