You may need to contact the company or companies that are asking for the money from your bank.

If your electricity is with Iberdrola they normally read meters and charge only once a month. So it's unusual to have 2 charges but there might be a plausible reason why there has been.

Again, with Iberdrola, and with other suppliers, the best way to keep track of usage and cost is to get the bill emailed to you. The bills also tell you which date they will take the money from your account.

You can arrange for email alerts online, by telephone or by going into one of their offices.

With Iberdrola you can arrange to have your monthly statement emailed to you in English you can then tie it up with what they take out of your bank.

I went to my local Iberdrola office and arranged to go onto a daytime/night-time allowance the night time tariff being 50% of the day tariff.

Night tariff hours being 2300-1300hrs.

So in the morning you operate washing machine, dish-washer, have boiler on timer heat water during during cheap rate lots of savings.

Worth looking into

Kind regards
