Hi

Looking for a reliable company/person to have a look at damp in the house.

Also looking to get a quote regarding tiling or adding concrete to a garden

Thanks

Hello,

As you've only just joined the forum can I ask if you have just bought the house or if it has been empty for a while?

Damp is a huge problem here and Rojales isn't very far above the water table. You don't usually need a damp specialist to work out what is happening. Is it on external walls at the bottom, behind furniture, near the ceiling, in every room, for example?

Give us a few more details and someone may be able to help.

Regards

Hey ya. Thanks for the reply

We have had the house 13 years but haven't been over since covid began.  It was always manageable but now it seems to have spread quite badly. It's under a window in the living room near a front door. On the otherside of the wall is the stairs and it's started over there again. (We had used mould paint a few years ago )

The plaster / rough dash in the inside home is falling from the walls.

Thanks again

Tried the paint a few years ago but

A few things to look at from our own experience....Do you have a tiled "skirt" around the outside of the house and tiling part way up the outside walls and if so has the grout perished between the wall and floor tiles? We scraped all ours out and refilled with swimming pool grout. Is the front door and the window protected from the elements in any way such as a covered terrace or is it open?

Was your area  badly affected by the Gota Fria in mid September 2019 as there was an awful lot of water which hung about for a good while and if the house has been pretty much locked up, unventilated and not heated since it will explain why it has got so bad.

This article makes a few good points, https://www.neverpaintagain.co.uk/blog/anti-damp-paint-why-damp-proofing-internally-will-not-work/
