Peace of mind from knowing that your health insurance in Spain won't be cancelled

We have been with ASSA since applying for our NLV 3 years ago. This week my husband recieved a notification of an increase in our policy, we have never made a claim or seen a gp since taking out the policy, do not claim for any medication either. My husband will be going into the office this week as when we took out the policy we understood that it would not change as we got older as stated in their advertising.

I would be interested to see what they say too, as mine has gone up by about €20 a month - which is a huge jump of about 26%.

Yes going in on monday, the policy has not changed but the TAX has increased, hence the increase.

Be aware when purchasing this insurance that you need to check Section 12.  Basically if you use this insurance for the 1st year, they at there discretion to say you have a pre existing condition! Even though your doctor and specialist say that they is no reason for this decision. And even when you dispute this, as with most insurances I assume they will not consider revoking that decision.

So, conclusion, don't use this insurance for the 1st year!  And don't expect peace of mind.

You are also left in a catch 22 situation because if you go to another insurance company you would have to put this down on the application.
