I lived and worked in Tenerife from the mid nineties to 2002 I had my NIE number but never got my residencia, I did pay Tax and social security, can anyone advise me how to obtain copies of the cards or paperwork please, I do know my NIE number because its on my expired spanish driving Licence, the reason is I am moving back to spain and to prove what I have said poeple ask for paper copies or cards. regards, Tom.

If you're a UK passport holder you'll need to apply for a visa from one of the Spaish consulates in the UK, Manchester, London or Edinburgh, if you wish to become resident in Spain. Unfortunately, your previous visit as a working non resident doesn't count for anything.
Your NIE number is just a tax number
EDIT Just seen some of your older posts which state that you are resident in France? I've only advised on the details that you've given.

Follow the instructions on this website and you can get a copy of your work history 'vida laboral'. It shows all the work you did under contract and paying social security. It might be one thing useful to you.

Yes I do have a, carte de Ségur, which is French residency and I am familiar with all the Spanish visa requirements,thank you
