Hola, today I have completed my journey to obtain residency. The last part was organised, clear, precise, if there is one piece of advice to share it would be to engage in a local abogados, cost 300 Euro and they have access for appts at the immigration , someone takes you there ,explains what happens when you go in and wait for you outside. Wishing everyone else who is going through the process, the best of luck,it has been a long process but we'll worth it.

I can personally recommend this company and it looks as if the price is between €90 and €120 per person.I haven't changed my residencia to TIE yet and will probably do it myself but Uma has helped us out with Spanish driving licences, getting SIP cards and tax returns. If you are a customer of hers she will also help with funerals when the inevitable happens for between €2-3,000, no money upfront. If you become friends on her facebook page you will get reminders for car tax, rubbish, IBI, tax returns etc plus a lot of other useful information.

Hola,we started the process in England 4 months ago, Manchester were very good and we had our visa in 2 weeks, flight booked to Spain on 26th July, which was 3 weeks from visa receipt, padron in benijofar last week and Alicante yesterday. The process is excellent when you have confirmation of appointments.

Hi,

You can use an abogado (lawyer) to assist with residency applications - and SGM in Benijofar are excellent - but it will be more expensive than using a gestor.  I would also recommend Uma at Get Legal in Spain.

Kind regards,

Kim

Hi

It would help the forum greatly if you could give a detailed report of how you obtained your NLV.

It’s a new process for us Brits and lots of people come on here asking for advice, so to hear first hand of the process you went through , times,  documentation required and fees etc.

We can then place this as a guide to assist others thinking of going through the same process

Hi Lynn,

A guide already exists, but it would be great if there´s anything that Eileen would like to add to it:

How to apply for a Non-Lucrative visa (NLV)

Kind regards,

Kim

Thanks...
