€200

You could spend 200 Euros at Decathlon and get a perfectly serviceable bike for use on roads and trails, or you could buy this for the same amount and get a bike that cost three times as much and has a specification to match.

It looks and rides like new. I have upgraded the rear derailleur (Shimano Deore) which gives smoother, more precise gear changes and recently fitted an expensive KMC chain, which will last a lot longer.

I have only ridden this bike a few hundred miles and always in the dry.

The only reason I am selling it is that I am planning to buy a road bike and need the secure storage space.

Here is the rest of the specification and the write-up from Evans:

Product code:  EV244101

If a mountain bike is a too heavy duty for you and a road bike too limiting, the Pinnacle Cobalt could be what you're looking for. With larger-volume semi-treaded 700C tyres and a short-travel suspension fork with lockout it fulfils a wide range of duties on most surfaces. From roads to towpath to woods and back to the roads with ease. The geometry of the Cobalt will ensure perfect cornering on any surface and great handling on moderate off-road terrain. Mounting guards and a rack is easy on all models making this a really versatile bike.

The Cobalt Three features an adjustable air suspension fork with full hydraulic lock-out feature to match your weight and riding style perfectly. A firm or more comfy ride, locked-out on road or fully open, it's your choice. Shimano M355 hydraulic brakes and 9-speed Alivio and Acera parts finish off this great mixed-terrain all-rounder.

Hi,

Sorry if I've missed the info, what year and frame size is it?

Sorry, I missed putting that info. Size is L, which according to the sizing guide for Pinnacle, is for height 5’10” to 6’ 1”. I am 5’10”, medium build and it fits me fine.

I believe its the 2016 model - that is when I bought it new.

Size is L - 5’10” to 6’1” according to Pinnacle.

It is perfect for use on the road and trails.

I’ll see if I have a photo of it. If not, will take one and upload asap.

Photos uploaded (see post above).

Note that dog seat (and dog!) are not included.

Note also that pedals supplied are the standard ones which came with the bike - not SPD pictured. If SPD pedals are required, I’ll supply and fit them for an additional 20 Euros.

I used to work for Evans many moons ago, I have to agree they are fantastic bikes, but aren't very well know like specialized, trek & even Btwin etc so don't seem to command the second hand prices the other brands do.

From memory, albeit very cloudy nowadays, in the UK they only ever seemed to fetch between £120-£150 even the Cobalt 4 (the one with deore gears and brakes) rarely went over £160 once they were a couple of years old.

Even the rubbish Carrera bikes that Halfords sell fetch more money than the much better Pinnacle bikes.

I'm not trying to put your bike down, I agree it's worth the money compared to a lot of bikes you see for sale. In fact I think I was the first to reply & if it had been a medium size or a slightly newer model I'd have been and bought it by now.

Good luck with the sale, it should have sold by now :)
