I suppose it depends why you go to the doctor.

You can take your own blood pressure at the Farmacia. If you are concerned, you can take the printouts to your doctor.

They? Never?  How many doctors have you been to in Spain?

What else can I say!

My partner has been to the same Doctor on numerous occasions and never had their blood pressure taken, as my partner has had 2 strokes should it not be a prerequisite? I think this Doctor is just plain lazy. My partner no longer bothers going, other than for the yearly renewal of their prescription, all trust and confidence in this Doctor has long gone.

Did your other half never actually ask for a blood pressure check? If so, what was the response?

My doctor will give blood pressure checks on request.

I take my own blood pressure at home with a Hyology monitor as often as I want. Very accurate and easy to obtain and use. If I go to Doctors, I suffer from the "white coat syndrome" and my reading is much higher.!!.  Before any comments made, I have had the monitor tested at Farmacia, and is 100% accurate.  Might be your answer.

Hello

Only a Doctor can answer you question. I have  taken blood pressure meds for years  but my Dr asks me, what my blood pressure is whenever I go!

She told me years ago to  take my BP & weigh myself regularly ( she has scales ha!), & keep a note of both so depending on when/what I go to her for, she can check either.

I was surprised at first but, its one of the many things you just get used to when you live here & it really is no inconvenience to have a BP machine at home + scales & in my case, a little notebook & pen haha ....old school

Cheers

Yes, I also have my own BP machine. I take my BP monthly, it encouraged me to gently reduce my tabs over a year when the readings were within limits.

I haven't taken tabs now for over 3 years and also had BP tests recently when I had a short spell in hospital. All readings were OK.
