Hi

San Miguel de Salinas has almost everything that you would need. Chemists superb health centre opticians dentist lovely bars and restaurants, small and large supoermarket and the best of all - the Spanish people themselves. A truly lovely place.

Just get a place in or near to the viallage, but at all costs AVOID like the plague an Urbanisation called Eagles Nest. Full mainly of racist bigots and nasty gossips who smile whilst hlding the dagger behind their backs. It should be named Vipers Nest!

A governing committee who must have done their training at Fred Karno's Army Cadet Camp!

I agree hole heartedly about your comment on the local Spanish people and description of San Miguel. The OP has stated he and his wife are quite active. One reason I settled in San Miguel is there’s no need for a car to get around the village and Balcon de Costa is five minutes walk from the centre. There is also a communal swimming pool, football pitches and tennis courts. Balcon de Costa itself is quite hilly so excellent for daily exercise. I can’t comment on Eagles Nest but your description made me laugh.

Regards.

Tom.

The replies refer to San Miguel de Salinas, near Villamartin, not the Salinas near Sax.

Hi Cheryl

Your reply made me laugh so hard, a somewhat differrent experience having lived by the coast in an expat Eldorado type area to inland real life spanish experience. I live further north of Sax in Villena similar but not enough info for poster re Sax itself.

Hope next member reads the posters location and replies accordingly.

Regards

Pauline.
