I am seriously thinking of relocating to San Miguel.  I am an OAP and have a property in SM

Is there anyone out there who could give me some advise of how I go about it and how long does it take.(without being scammed) I understand that there are some scammers about.

Do you mean going to live in San Miguel on a permanent basis? That is, becoming a Spanish resident?

If so, lots of advice and threads on how to do this. It will depend greatly on the passport you hold as there are different rules for EU and non EU citizens.

Depending on where you are from, all the possible question you could think of have been answered on one of those threads and just put residence in the search box.

Here's a link to the advice pages on this site Residency which should give you a start.

As someone drawing a state pension (are we still allowed to say OAP?) you would transfer your healthcare to Spain and receive it for free.

If you are a UK passport holder and you want to live here permanently in Spain you will need to apply for a visa. If you are a UK passport holder and you are receiving UK Pension you will probably want to apply for a non lucrative visa.

To gain a non lucrative visa you will need to prove an income of around €28,800 per annum plus full healthcare which can be covered by the S1 healthcare scheme which is paid for by the UK government.

You will need to apply for the non lucrative visa from the Spanish consulate in the UK either from London, Manchester or Edinburgh.

Further to the other responses to your enquiry about residing in Spain as a U K passport holder, this link explains the process together with the evidence needed for your application:
