Hi jtbedford,
My husband and I also have private healthcare, as we we don't yet qualify for S1s either. Lynn is correct, you don't need a new temporary SIP card, your number is still valid - our health centre didn't issue temporary cards at all. Nevertheless, having had our first jab, we received texts to advise us of the appointment for our second dose, but you do need to ensure that you have a Spanish mobile number registered on your SIP record in order to receive the text. You can check your SIP record using this link - scroll down to the bottom of the landing page to see the form you need to complete:

Our first two doses were Astra Zeneca, which were administered around 12 weeks apart last year; the gap was similar for those people who were double-jabbed with PfizerBioNtech, even though Pfizer (and the WHO) recommended only a 3-4 week gap. We had Pfizer for our boosters, which were administered at almost 6 months after our second AZ dose. It's the gap between second dose and booster that has been significantly reduced, but since implementation was transferred from the mass vaccination centres to individual health centres, the gap between doses doesn't seem to be such an exact science - while my husband waited 12 weeks between his original two doses, I only waited 10 weeks. As you received your first dose 7 weeks ago, you could receive notification of your second dose in around 2-3 weeks' time, depending on which vaccine you've already had. If you haven't heard by then, I'd suggest going back to your health centre.
Kind regards,
Kim
