...ry and February, although of course an apartment would get used at other times too. I realise that the Grand Playa area is more touristic and therefore quieter off season but your reply encourages me. When I look at the commerces in that part of the town they are still open so people must be around. The distances that you describe do not put me off at all. It being very Spanish is for me a good reason to consider the town favourably. Are there clubs and activities going on too out of season? I appreciate the chance to pick someone's brain a little, who is on the ground and with experience there. Thanks.

... from France, where I live..the property prices seem to be reasonable. I am looking somewhere towards the end of Gran Playa, a couple of blocks back from the beach. I am worrying that this area is too quiet during the winter months? I am not worried about the distance from town and I believe there is a local bus circling round. It is more about will it be a ghost town at this end of town in the winter. Many of the bars and restaurants seem to be open now, but are they open earlier in the year? Are there many people around? Hoping to get some good advice, so thanks in advance!

...hbours who are Spanish/Ukranian and others who are Spanish and Portuguese. Some speak a little English and with our little Spanish we get along very well. We see each other most days and consider them to be very good friends. If you make an effort you wont go far wrong. Any further questions please just ask. Russ

...roll in to the town you'll find it's still very busy. Our neighbours are all spanish and like Russ said, with our little spanish we get on and are now firm family friends! Personally we prefer to be where we are as its just out of the main hub and others would say its too far out and too quite, but each to their own, what i can say is santa pola as a whole is such a lovely town and we've loved having our house there for the past 7 years!
