Gone but not forgotten !!
I do think that if content is deemed inappropriate (which sometimes it is) & censorship employed. A comment from whoever is responsible for the censorship would be more appropriate.

I Second that emotion 👍

What's the point in posting if it's going to be deleted?
Censorship is right, but a message in place of the offending message is not unreasonable. . We are not children.
As with all things in life people have different opinions on all manner of topics, which is the very essence of any Forum. It would be a boring world and Forum if everyone mutely agreed with everyone else.
Backbiting is too strong a comment and indeed in using that term it could be assumed you are in a way, in your own terms ' backbiting " .
The Moderators should give reasons why posts or threads are deleted, it is common decency and respect to do so and it does not require any special tools for that to happen.
LeckyLes.
Pete, A new thread should , if needed, be created by the Moderators explaining why the original thread has been removed and then as you say locked ' In this way contributers to the Forum can be guided as to what is and what is not allowed and the conduct of the Forum would possibly improve, if in deed it needs to. By simply deleting a thread, without explaining why only, leaves frustration and uncertainty as to what was unacceptable. Clarification is required.
As far as I can see, the rules of conduct are quite clear. Abiding by these rules, together with adult common sense about which Anglo-Saxon profanities posted on a public forum & read by varying age-groups. A true forum (although generating an advertising platform for those that run it) should be ( in my opinion,) there to enable frustrations & differing opinions to be posted. In that way we can all learn. Personal abuse & profanities are not needed in order to get our points across. Villas
This post that was quoted has been deleted.
I hope (merely by posting) the moderators (if they are indeed moderating), are aware of these concerns. Villas.
