If you are resident you will also pay more in income tax then in the ik as the personal allowance is a lot lower

Cars are also mire expensive to buy

What  income tax  should  i  expect  to  pay  as living  off  saving  till  pension kick  in, no  intention to  working,  but would  like to get involved  in Charity  to help less well off  expat as  I  guess  there would be  some organisations  out there

It would only be when your pension starts if it is over the personal allo

It's not quite as simple as that. Speak to a tax advisor in Spain. There is a basic allowance then various add on allowances. Not as good as UK allowances but under various circumstances works out around 8k. There is also another way of working out a couples allowance so your advisor would tell you which would be most beneficial.

Thanks   for  talking  time to  reply as  it  interest  me to know the cost of living  in Spain,  I  would  have  a  pension  of  280e   and  willing  to put  60e  a week  toward&nbs...

...p; it,  a  figure  of  350 a  week   is  maximum  for  me, i  would  own a  property  outright,   i  am  not a  pub  person  but would like to  dine out 1 or  2  a week, Would  that  figure   be  tight to live  on, Electricity  Water Insurance I  Internet  phone  not  sure about a  car  just yet,

If  you live  full time  in Spain, do  you  mind if  I  ask  how you spend   time  in  July  August  heat

Hi - re the eating out aspect, which I am not sure if this have been covered as yet...we are finding that it is very low cost (or can be without forfeiting quality) using the Menu del Dia's. A friend over in Sax and I have a bit of a challenge running as to finding yet another. J and I ate out at Don Caminos (Spanish) in Agost with several course last week for 10 Euro per person which included a half bottle of wine.

The Indian restaurant in Hondon 9.95, Tipsy Terrace 15 euro...but boy, great choice...Belgique / european menu, the Chinese place in Sax 6.95pp...over this last month.

Location is sure to play a hand...we are 30 km inland from Alicante.

Enjoy this life. Wish you well.

D (&J)
