We're hopefully completing our purchase in Playa Flamenca in early September.

Sabadell charge 0.4% of the value of the bank cheque up to a max of €300. So it should cost us €300 for the cheque but they'll reduce that to €252 if we take their insurance. Not the same discount you got Lana Scot, any idea why you got a bigger discount? I don't imagine a bank will entertain haggling 😉

All we done was telegraphic transfer from sterling in our Uk bank to Spainish lawyers account....even if it’s a week or so before completion your never going lose any interest and then they do the rest on the day...simple, painless and shop around beforehand to use best money transfer company and you can even play them off against each other for best price/ rate! We saved 180 euros for the sake of a couple phone calls and got a lot better exchange then any of the banks could offer by using a currency company!

Good luck with it ..skull!
