Hi Everyone,

I have an awful lot of small change, and wonder if there is a machine in the area I can get it counted and changed to a larger denomination?.

We do not have a Spanish bank account, use Wise. So the local banks are not interested in helping. At home (UK) they have machines in some of the supermarkets but I have not spotted any here yet. Anyone know please if there are machines like that here and if so where I can find one.

Thanks

Hi, there is a machine in Carrefour. You will get a ticket letting you know how much change you had, then you go to one of the tills to get the cash.

Regards, Dave

Make sure you check what % they will charge you beforehand (usually ranges from 9 to 15% or more)

There is a coin exchange machine in Punta Prima Carrefour. We used it this week, they deduct 10% and you get a receipt that gets exchanged for notes at the till.

No need to sort, just pour into the machine.

I had over £500 in coins before I left the UK to change up. It would have taken me hours to bag up and take to the bank, plus the bank would only exchange £20 at a time. The % paid was well worth it.

After all, they machines are owned by a business, and they have to pay for the machines, their maintenance and emptying, and the rental cost in the supermarket. You don't get services like that for free.
