I use Sat TV plus and its a turn on turn off service at 20 euros a month. There was a setup fee. I then subscribe to an Iptv service which costs about 60 euros a year for all channels. So whenever I go over I get internet switched on and channels are then available.

Hi do they operate in playa del cura beach area ?

Hi there, when you say 20 euros a month, is that calendar month, or any 30 days?  If we arrived say on 25th of a month for two weeks, would we pay 20 euros for that month, and then another 20 euros for the rest of our stay?

Many thanks

No everything is done through the underground fibre optic cable  we only had the Internet as we use an amazon firestick for TV but we wish we had had the TV  fitted as most of the free UK tv streams have been stopped now. I went to ask about having it fitted now and it will cost us 40 e...

...uros a month now instead of 30 for 2 years as we didn't  have them fitted together. My husband wont have a dish he doesn't like all the wires and there is more disruption if there is bad weather,  We live here but if you rent the propertype  out it is a good thing to have. Hope that helps.

Not sure if this helps but so long as you have a internet connection then you can access all the UK channels for free by using a VPN on your lap top or PC. It is around 3 euro a month a VPN and it is also ideal for any online banking as a VPN gives yo an extra layer of security, I use cyber Ghost and I paid around 50 euros for the year and I use it all the time and have used it in over 50 countries. Then you connect your PC to your TV if you want it on the bigger screen.

We have a new smart tv still in the box for when our house is finished. When we get internet,  is there some way of using the VPN directly on the tv rather than through a laptop. Think this might make the picture slow. Thanks.

We find as its a holiday home we don't need the extensive TV service that we have in the UK. We have a TDT Spanish set top box ( bought from any store like carrefour or other electrical stores) and we can switch to English language when any of the many American or UK films or series/ programmes a...

...re on as the football, for my footie mad husband,  does not need language change (a modern TV or smart TV in Spain would have this system already installed, I would think as we bought ours 12 years ago)).

This suits us as we are mainly there to enjoy the lifestyle & weather etc. We don't stay in much in the evenings watching TV either and on the odd time it's raining and cool we watch the TDT or DVD's. If the UK footie is not on the TV then we go to the local bar(s) to watch it, which is more fun.

When we first came to Spain we thought we would need UK TV but every now and again we think about when we would have had time to really watch it, as we do in England and for us it would be wasted. There is enough on the TDT TV to keep us happy for a few hours on a rainy afternoon/evening and we even get Spanish lessons too as we enjoy watching the news in Spanish and they always show the fiestas around the country too. I agree that if we lived full time in Spain we would probably miss the UK TV and would no doubt get it piped in like most expats but with the recording facility back home in the UK it just means a Corrie or Neighbours fest when we get back to the UK weather -Something to look forward to - the soaps not the weather... LOL

Are you saying if you gave a Smart TV that you just need to connect to internet as it will have same stuff as on set top box. Thanks.

Either install the VPN at router level, since they usually cannot be installed on tvs or use a smart DNS service and input their details directly into the tvs network settings.

This is of great interest to me.. where do you find SAT TV? I'm moving to Torrevieja in the spring from the US. I also have an EU passport, which of course makes the move easier. I currently have a smart TV so I don't need cable, I just use Wifi for anything I want on TV. Is this possible in Torrevieja?

Thanks! I'm trying to learn as much as I can prior to my move date.
