Best & cheapest are as often as not mutually exclusive.

Torrey also covers a rather large area so it might help if you were a bit more specific with location.

Hi Tom,

You are looking for an Internet provider, not 'wi-fi' on its own. That comes off your router box as a feature contrasting to Cat 5 cabled. Internet providers local to you will be multiple and diverse...both in terms of speed and price. It is not unlike the UK or any country...if you use a mainstream provider who have copper or fibre to your nearest switch then you are golden. Other providers may be piggy-backing off the tier 1s, so manage your expectations accordingly.

If you go into a selection of the Internet providers and quote your post code and address then they will tell you what the art of the possible is, and at what cost. It is down to location and proximity. I would imagine that Torrevieja would do quite well and even see fibre (the fastest) to buildings.

I have a good service from Cableworld to the villa outside of Monovar. It stays up, speedtests at varying times of day show consistency and 10MB download speed costs me Euro20. That is way down on what you should experience but a compromise for being out in the sticks with fantastic views. I won't be streaming live vids overly much but it does the job, even Skype conference calls without detriment.

On the subject of cost, and if you are not resident 12 months of the year, then ask if the provider has a plan to map to your anticipated usage.

Others on the forum have suggested that you ask your neighbours. Not a bad tip as they may give you an sight into their reality, plus how good the service package is behind the scenes...you may need that at some point.

Good luck ;-)
