It was on Thursday 18th February when I last used my bus pass and had no problems. I had other payment methods ready just in case! Ticket showed no expiry date which is presumably how it didn’t reject.

Hi Everyone

I have recently received my TIE (WHOO HOO !) and thought I would try for a bus pass. Looking at the advice on here, thanks everyone, I went to the little booth in the Fruit and Veg market and just said 'passe de boose' in a very English way and the gentleman passed me a form to complete just my name and NIE number and then directed me to the bank (green coloured bank just to the left when you go out from his booth). You have to pay 7 euros in cash.....bank clerk speaks English, result.  BTW, also when you get into the bank you have to get yourself a ticket for the queue. You then have to go back to the man (who gives you a date and appointment time on a slip of paper). Will update you on Stage 2 once done but hopefully this will be useful to everyone wanting to apply for a bus pass. If you have more Spanish than I do then that will be better I think !

Hello

Your location says Punta Prima  so just advising you that the only buses you can use your pass on are Torrevieja Avanza routes....A, A2 ,B ,C, D/F, G & H( the bus to Torrevieja market on Fri .mornings). Anywhere else you have to pay....apologies if you already know this

Cheers

Thank you....yes it is probably quite limited but I think I also have access to the floating museums which I can't wait to see. It's a great deal actually because I think I will use the pass a quite a bit to get to Torrevieja and also I am looking forward to going to a few other places within the slightly wider area.

Thanks for taking the time to explain the limitations......I'm a newbie so I really appreciate the guidance.

I have seen on Torrevieja.com that there is  timetable for the routes so I will have a few 'bus days' and try to get around a bit.

Can you still use your old bus pass?

I think it has to be renewed every year but it doesn't cost anything to renew.

Again you have to go to the Transport Office which is in the central market in Torrevieja.

You only need to take your original pass with you. I took padrón but not required for renewal.
