Sorry if I’m missing something obvious here but I’ve been searching for information on this bus route (assuming there is one) and I can’t find it.

I bet someone on here knows the answer!  Where does the bus go from and what is the route number?  I would be taking the G bus from La Siesta into town but then what?  Also is it 1.40 single journey?

The bus leaves from the bus station. Find details here  https://costazul.net/en/intercity-services/

Update on the journey La Siesta to La Zenia.  Well, I did it yesterday and what a terrible journey!  I waited about 20 minutes for the first bus, even though the live updates that counts the minutes to next bus at your stop was a bit inaccurate (ie I went out just before 1200 expecting a bus in five minutes but 15 more minutes went by before it came.  It took about 45 mins to the bus station so I figured 45 more to wait for the 1330 Zenia bus.  Wrong!!  The timetable sellotaped to the ticket office window said next bus 1430, so the online timetable was clearly wrong.

I should have said “ok, get one of the taxis outside”, but I didn’t.  It eventually left at about 1435 and I was at the shopping mall by about 1500.  So....a journey of about 9 miles took me the best part of THREE HOURS!!

I know that the timetable confusion was partly to blame but never again!  I was only going to make enquiries at Conforma about the non-delivery of my sofa so I might as well have gone on my bike.

PS.  There were several taxis waiting outside the mall so one of them got my custom for the return journey which took only 20 minutes and cost me 18 euros.

PPS.  For others who do not know, the La Zenia bus goes from bay number 9 in the bus station for the standard fare of 1.35 euros.  I had to buy a ticket at the ticket off

I can honestly say that the bus service(in particular the G bus) is one of the worst services I have ever experienced. There is no rhyme or reason to when they depart/arrive and the app either doesn't work at all or gives an incorrect indication of when the next bus is due. Very disappointing.

You’re not wrong there, Linda!  I fancied an evening excursion to Carrefour last night but was dismayed to find that the online information was down.  Maybe it doesn’t work weekends.  Ah well, just go out and wait - I might get lucky, or so I thought.  FORTY minutes later and no bus - this was around 6-7pm by the way.  It was only the fact that I could watch the closing stages of the test match on my phone that kept me there so long.  I gave up in the end and went back home to get my bike out.  It’s 15 minutes each way by bike but, of course, I was limited to how much I could bring back.

I’m a car driver at home and it’s incredibly frustrating being here without one.  I’m trying to economise by not hiring cars or using taxis too much, but it’s hard.  Sitting at hot bus stops is NOT my idea of fun!

Same thing happened to us a couple of weekends ago when the Vuelta event was on. App suddenly not working and after hanging around in blistering temperatures we decided to take a taxi into town. Not one of our better ideas as a lot of the roads closed and what should have been an 8 euro fare suddenly became 16 euros. No explanation given on the app so you don't know if there are no buses or if it's just not working. I don't drive so rely on public transport but it's becoming more and more frustrating every time we are over....rant over lol.

They don’t ever mention any of this on A Place in the Sun 😀

We had the same issue too.

Now fair enough, a big national event is taking place in the city centre and you obviously want traffic at a minimum. However, common sense would be to have the buses running normally from the outlying urbanizacions into the outskirts of town and then folk- especially those who work in the bars and restuarants- the chance to get into work to service what will be a busier than usual night of custom.

We ended up taking the car to Torreta, near the lakes, and walking 5 minutes to watch part of the race before returning local to have dinner.
