Applies to anyone transiting through Northern Ireland from abroad for the sole purpose of continuing their journey directly to the Republic of Ireland.
Before you travel to the UK, you must:
- complete a passenger locator form(external link opens in a new window / tab)
- take a COVID-19 test before you travel to the UK
You are not subject to day two and eight testing.
You should be prepared to provide Border Force officials with evidence of your transit intention. This may include:
- evidence of residency in the Republic of Ireland
- evidence of a hotel reservation for the day of arrival
or
- evidence of immediate direct onward travel plans to the Republic of Ireland
If you have been in a red list country in the previous 10 days you need to enter managed hotel isolation.
