I must say I was surprised as I expected them to say we weren't covered as travelling against FCO advice.
I think everyone needs to check with their own insurance to be certain, also making a note of the date and time they phone!
I did the same with our car insurance and they also confirmed we were covered.
As I suggested earlier insurance companies will say you are insured and you may well be in an emergency setting. The problem comes when yo move into the hospital settings where they will probably not cover the expense of ward or ITU settings. These are not emergency rooms!
