Breakdown Cover

I  am planning on  spending  winter  months in Torrevieja area.  I  will be  bringing  a small  Commercial  van  as Transport.  I  am travelling  from Republic of  Ireland.  My  query  this time  is.   

I  am looking for  Breakdown  cover for more than   90  days . Has anyone  travelling  from Republic  of Ireland 🇮🇪   got  Breakdown  cover  if  so  what  Companies  are  offering  Breakdown cover. My  vehicle  is only 4  years  old and only  getting  quotes  for  90 days  or  less.  Ireland  winter  is longer  than 90  days  and nights.  Any  advice  greatly appreciated 🙏 🙂

AFAIK the only company offering full breakdown cover in Spain is www.race.es but I don't think they will cover foreign regged vehicles or commercials.

Brakdowns are covered by ordinary Spanish liability policies. I don´t know any Spanish insurers covering alien vehicles.

Hi,

   our Nationwide Flex plus account costs £13 per month and with it there are a few insurance benefits, one being European breakdown cover. I could not find any mention in the T&C's of any length of time restrictions on trips abroad.  That is in the UK, there is a Nationwide (Ireland), so perhaps check with them to see if they provide the same in the R. of I. and, if they do, is time limited for trips abroad.

Will your current vehicle insurer cover you for over 90 days in Spain? If not, you could always insure your vehicle with a Spanish insurer. This would usually provide you with breakdown cover as part of the insurance policy.

I have used Easycover (0034965719700) for a number of years (UK vehicle). But remember this does not apply to Spanish residents and the vehicle can on ly be in Spain for 6 months.
