Our 90 days are up at the end of the month, yet returning to the UK is a problem due to few flights. Has anyone looked into this?
Thanks Wendy
Hello Wendy,
Lots of people are in your position on here & needing to leave Spain & there are a couple of topics on the subject posted recently.. You say there are few flights but there are plenty leaving from Valencia & Madrid to the UK. I did a search for a date in early March & there were 6 in one day leaving from Valencia. It was also pointed out by other members that there are also ferries /buses going to the UK
If you book a flight/ferry etc.& have travel confirmation to show, you can travel to wherever you are departing from, without restrictions as long as you are returning to your residential home.
Search for the topic on here & you'll find replies and advice....
Cheers

Look here http://www.exteriores.gob.es/Portal/en/Paginas/inicio.aspx. In any case I feel they won't be very strict.

Rather than fly (it’s booked but they could easily cancel it) I wouldn’t mind taking a coach, in however many stages, from Torrevieja to Leeds but the practicalities are almost impossible to get round. The timing is the problem between getting the blasted PCR test done and arriving in the UK.

Article 4. Extension of stays of up to ninety days.
1. Those people who are in Spain in a situation of stay, for a period not exceeding ninety days, which has expired during the validity of the state of alarm, will have their stay extended, automatically, for a period of three months.
2. This validity will be limited to Spanish territory.
3. The extended period will be taken into account in order to calculate the maximum time authorized for future stays.

Hello
This was published May 2020 & in relation to last years State of Alarm. I, personally, wouldn't be sure it applies this year, as there is no mention of the 90day limited stay for visitors and the days only began being counted on Jan 1st 2021.....I'm sure time will tell
Cheers

Madrid has flights to various UK destinations several times a day. Or you could look at a two stage flight, for instance via Schiphol Airport, to some of the smaller regional UK airports. There are plenty of flights and there are plenty of seats available, but you may have to consider using a different route. Anyone is allowed to return to their permanent place of residence as long as they have the appropriate covid test.

As El has advised, this BOE is in respect of last year's lockdown in Spain; it is no longer applicable.

Flights really kick off in May. We need Bristol, and Ryanair have 1 flight p.w. in April.
It seems there is an automatic extension due to Covid.
Hopefully the various tests needed now will be unnecessary in the coming weeks.
Thanks to all who took the time to respond. 😉😉

Hi Wendy,
"It seems there is an automatic extension due to Covid" - no, there isn't, that was applicable in the original lockdown, but is not applicable now.
As UK citizens, you have always had the right to return to the UK and there have been flights from Spain, as a minimum, from Madrid and Barcelona.
Regards,
Kim
