For checked in bags/cases, the size of the bag itself is not relevant - it is the weight that they will be monitor by placing your luggage on the scales when you check in and, as long as it is not in excess of 10kg, you will be fine

The dimensions given by Ryanair for a 10kg. cabin bag and 10kg. check in bag are the same.

Hi,

I'm afraid the information from Stevec61 is inaccurate, see my previous post. If you pay for a 'checked in' 10kg bag the size does matter, as well as the information in the link I supplied to Ryanair, as you proceed through the ticket/baggage purchase process if you select/pay for a 10kg bag for 'check in' the dimensions are shown as 55cm x 40cm x 20cm.

If someone knows/or believes different, please supply a source for the information, preferably from Ryanair.

Regards,

Bob

Ryanair are known to be very strict with dimensions of bags and for using the baggage sizer. On occasions people have had to remove wheels or handles off their bags to satisfy these criteria. As I stated before Ryanair check-in staff profit by getting a % cut of whatever charges they can foist upon you. Caveat emptor

Hi please could anyone tell me I there is a size restriction on a 10kg bag checked in with Ryanair? I have looked on their website but can’t really get a clear answer.
If anyone has travelled recently with this baggage I would appreciate some advice

Many thanks

I recently travelled from Prestwick to Alicante with a Ryanair 10kg check in bag that was bigger than the cabin bag size dimensions  but within the standard  check in bag dimensions (81cmx119cmx119cm) . I had no issue although I was a bit unsure if I would have a problem with the size at check in..I need not have worried.

(The bag was actually a box wrapped in bubble wrap which  weighed 10.5 kg at check in. They did not have any problem with the slight overweight or the bag being a box)

Thank you to everyone for all the responses to my question

I have just received confirmation from my email sent to Ryanair

They have confirmed that my 10g case must not exceed the size 55x40x20

Thanks again for all the responses

Carol

We fly regular, have a haversack, just put it in the Ryanair check in baggage allowance, plenty about before you fly, they never weigh them, enjoy your flight
