Whatever date the Spaniards choose to re-open, it's all a bit irrelevant really.

Speaking as a UK resident of working age who owns a property in Torrevieja, I can't justify a visit of any duration while Uncle Boris still has this ridiculous 14 day quarantine idea mulling about in his head. I (and probably most other working people in the UK) simply do not have the holiday entitlement to take an extra 2 weeks off work because I want to return to Spain to finish off painting the house that I started back in February.

I do hope that the Spanish can come to some sort of agreement like the French seem to have done.

I agree with the last poster. I query the wisdom of anyone wishing to board a flight with a large number of other passengers whilst the virus is still prevalent.

Spain introducing 14 day quarantine from 15 May as flights from other parts of EU begin to operate. Elsewhere UK and France have agreed a reciprocal no quarantine agreement and Ryanair to introduce flights from 1st July.

My understanding is that although flights may be operating, that even if you own a property, (but do not have Residence) that you will not be able to enter , even if you are prepared to do 14 day quarantine. The flights are operating for those that have residence or a job that means they must.

Nobody is mentioning travel insurance. I have a yearly insurance until September but if you travel surely you require this as if you become ill with Covid you may require ITU and that would cost dearly either in cash or your life. Currently not many travel insurances will cover Covid.

Hi I live in Ireland and have holiday home in Torrievija. We have booked flights 6 weeks ago to go out there on july first. Does anyone know if we are allowed to visit and will any restaurants or bars be open

Hi Anne49

Stay positive. If it is true that death rates are falling and testing is rising & safety measures are in place it might become possible in some form of other imo of course  as we have seen a lot can happen in a short space of time

Stay safe

I am not sure but you may have to go into quarantine for two weeks when you arrive. Don't know if that can be in your own house, don't see any reason why not but you might be stuck in for that time? I might be wrong but I am sure someone would know.
