Hello

It seems your presidential   powers  are more in use  than here. If big  finances are involved ( we recently had some new lights in one part of the Urb) then the president had to ok this work but generally, decisions are very much communal. We have 2 vice presidents...

... Norwegian & Spanish who also take action on things that need doing---- whenever they are here, its quite relaxed and works fine....Administrators are also helpful and available for advice etc

Cheers

We have found the presidency quite a task, and most intrusive of our time.

Folk ring our bell at all times, for mostly very trivial stuff, that they could easily sort out themselves.

Our meals are interrupted, and we have even had to get out of bed at times!

Mobiles not working, flat car batteries to name just 2.

Like being back at work, and at 75 years old,we don't need that.

Roll on January, when they will pull a name from a hat to elect the next president.

Hopefully he will be on of our whingers, then he can get a taste of his own medicine!!

Hello

OMG that sounds awful & so intrusive,   a job to be rid of asap it seems

Some of the Swedish people  here are often keen to take on the job as they outnumber (&  out vote) everyone else but none of  our presidents live here full time which I suppose, is your disadvantage. Ive lived here full time longer than anyone now so I do take on some jobs, voluntarily  but  don't go to our meetings now as they are conducted in Spanish & Swedish only,     so I  send my vote with someone else & wait for the minutes in English.

Hope you get your freedom back in Jan.

Cheers

We have been doing it for almost 2 years now.

We have mentioned to folk that we are giving up,and been told no one is willing to take it on.

The president has to live here full time.Someone is in for a shock!

Whatever the home owners vote,it is the president who says yes or no at the end of the day.

My husband is the president.

We are hoping to give up in January.

Not much point putting any concerns/issues to a vote then.  May as well just ask the P what he/she thinks.

I don't blame you then for wanting someone else to do it.

I don't even know who my President is.  I emailed the factor/administracion de finca last night and the news was positive.  He agrees the pool should have been open in October and will raise the issue with the President at their next meeting together.  Apparently there is no specific open/close months but someone obviously didn't want it to be available - having put a sign up at the pool saying 'productos toxicos'.  Anyway it all sounds quite positive.

Yes,hopefully you have a decent president?

We are fair folk, and have had some nice comments about our presidency.

People want us to carry on,but after 2 years,it's time for someone else to have all the mither.

When a new president takes over, all residents are informed, and given the presidents tel number, and house number, hence all the intrusion at all hours.

Today a lady called as her neighbour is playing his drums.

My husband called to see him,he was compliant, but said he isn't breaking the law playing them through the day,and he probably isn't breaking the law.

Not pleasant for the lady, but wouldn't be pleasant for my husband should someone decided tom'fill him in'!!!

I don't want a 75 year old dead hero!
