Have a look at El Chaparral, La Siesta and San Luis, there are properties of that price around there and there is a bus route to the beach, not expensive and run about every 30 - 40 minutes. There are plenty of bars and shops also. Good luck,

I looked on idealists and found a fabulous 2 bed apartment near the bus station. Managed to negotiate a good price.
Get a good independent solicitor.
Property tax is a killer at 10%.
Good luck there are properties out there.
