Hi look on Idealista , and around La Siesta and San Luis , there are still property’s in your price bracket and Torrettas as well , some have community pools or it’s a short drive to the sea and there is a local water park there as well , good luck with your search and get a good independent ...

...solicitor , not the one from the selling agent and don’t pay a deposit to the agent pay it to your solicitor 👍

Hi Karol, would you recommend any of those areas for a young family? My budget is similar and I’ve been looking in Sax but would also like to look at other areas. Any info or suggestions? Tia!

Look at the date of the program at the end and the exchange rate. There are still bargains to be had but you need to be here to check them out., We had one week to look around and saw 30+ properties up to 65K, we found 2, the offer on the first was turned down!!!! the second a bit of bargaining and we got it for 55500 49sqm 2 beds 50sqm terrace and on a proper road with street lights etc., have spent about 5k and another 3K is foreseen in the very near future. Very economical to run, about 110 Euros per year for rates and an electricity bill that varies from 45 euros pm to 100pm in Jan and august.

Beware of agents that tell you that you can build another floor on top.............. A few years ago yes this was doable but not any longer. About a month ago a guy very near us built a second floor in 3 weeks, Last week the police were here taking photos of it so who knows what will happen now. At the beginning of this year a guy from the town hall was photographing every house in Torreta 2, I don't know about the others. Here it is really multicultural and we have made many friends in the street.

Hi I would suggest you go over and if possible hire a car and have a look your self, look in estate agents adverts before going in , the areas I mentioned do have families and it is only 10 minutes by car to everything, definitely worth a look for your budget , I have seen some today that start at 43,000€ go on as many sites that you can, especially Idealista , good luck and do as much research as possible .

You need to be here yourself, As already mentioned Idealista is probably the best place to start. arrange appointments as soon as you can. Estate agents windows rarely have those cheap properties now, they are just to get you in. Just been sold is the usual comment but we have !!  Also don't bother with the 40sqm 3 bed properties like one of our neighbours has. It is like 3 cells from the Scrubs. We visited 30 places in a week. One of our friends saw over a 100 places over a longer period of time.

Bear in mind the orientation, Some love the sun but in the hot months it gets very hot. Our place faces north fresher in the summer but my wife hates it in the winter, rather dark!!!

Good Luck

Hi my name is Caroline and I'm on this journey,I hold my hand up I watch far to much place in the sun ,going to there road shows, I would say past super fan , Jasmine my fav so I took the plunge went out to Torrevieja 3 ,4 times . I'm a home carer in the u.k  ,work my arse off I mean really did ,every penny was mad precious , cut a long story short found a bungalow 2 bed on Torretta 2 fixer upper that was June just gone complete. Was under 46 ,and took my time with builder . Places in that price range need fixing. I'm near on the end ,but time and money and a trusted builder .I'm near shops and things but a good area to learn Spanish and get to know other areas , I still learning so any advice I have is all fresh as all happen 2019. Regard Caroline from rainy u.k visiting my property on 19th of December, time for the fun stuff buying furniture ,well a bed at least see how many penny lefted in the old purse.
