Hi Shelly - I purchased my holiday home 3-4 yrs ago and have great neighbours and all amenities within walking distance - Toretta Florida (beside the Haberneras shopping mall) - I arranged a viewing trip twice from Scotland - had a few properties in mind that I'd found on the Internet but Alegria (estate Agents in Torrevieja) were great - picked me up from my Hotel every morning and let me see different areas/flats/houses all within my budget - a busy but extremely enjoyable couple of weeknds (had my old 83 yr old Mum in tow and they were very patient)

Ahh brilliant thanks Linda I will certainly do that. Is it busy in torrevieja all year round. 

 Yes- there's always something on- Fiesta's,concerts & lots of expat groups to meet up 4 coffee/ lunches/ etc there' s 3 X British freebie newspapers which are a fund of info

Shelly,  go to exhibition and see what areas are on offer, even go on the shows visits, But you need to be strong to say not for me. I have done both selling in Spain and visiting estate agents in area.

 Get a good lawyer to help with the purchase.Do not feel pressurised by anyone. If it feels right it will be.

What you need to do is get a cheap flight out, hire a car and visit/stay in different towns and villages unless you have an area in mind

If I had any advice I would say rent for 6 mnths in that area, just to see if it's for you 

There will be plenty of help from expats.
