I'd love to!  I tend to leave my apartment for family to use in the hottest months though.  They all love the really high temps.  Not for me.  I love May and June and October too - especially with some really interesting severe weather events.  I also love to nip across o...

We will be relying on the bus service from airport as don't like to drive abroad. Not sure how often we will get out but often enough I hope.

Family and friends can use it too.

We noticed the supermarket diaprix I think on main road. Is there a bigger one near??

Great will be on Calle Rafal if it all goes through ok. We liked that there was a supermarket and bars very close and that the beach was at the end of the road.

Bus seems to be handy too as we took a trip in from centre of Torrevieja one night to check out the area.

We are hoping to pick up keys end of May and have booked ten days out then.

Brilliant!!  We're practically neighbours.  I'm in Calle Valencia.  :-)

Yes, that'd be great!  I think you've made a great choice.  There's just so many shops and restaurants on your doorstep, it's well served for bus services (and the bus station is quite close - even closer when the new one gets built across from the Carrefour).  I'm back across at t...

With Dialprix and other local shops in the community there won't be too much you'll need.  The 24hr shop in Urbano Aregui (which isn't always 24hrs) is also really good for buying bits and bobs.

About a mile towards Punta Prima there is an Aldi.  About a mile north-east there's the Carrefour.  Both shouldn't cost too much for a taxi if you don't plan on hiring a car - for a main weekly shop.  But otherwise, what's around you will be absolutely fine.  I also see neighbours increasingly using home delivery, so that's another option.

Thanks we did have a nosey in diaprix and it probably would serve our needs and we could walk or bus it the bigger shops and taxi it back like you suggest.

Meant to add...don't be too reluctant to drive here.  It's not as bad as you'd think.

Over 20 years ago, in Scotland, I bought myself a FIAT Barchetta.  Partly because I liked it, partly because I couldn't afford a Mazda Mx5 far less a Porsche Boxster.  I never regretted it.  Thing is, the Barchetta was only ever produced as a left-hand-drive.  So I got used to driving on the LHS of the car.  A few years later I visited Fuerteventura and saw how quiet the roads were.  So next time I went, I hired a car and found a house to rent very near to the airport.  This gave me my first taste of driving on the LHS of the road.  Then I began to look at buying somewhere on the Costa Blanca and hired a car to have a look around.  There was still a learning curve but mostly, touch wood, it's okay.

I hire a car partly for convenience (and usually it's really, really cheap!).  But mainly because when I go on holiday I take my mum with me, and she's not so great at walking far as she once was.
