Spain needs tourists and tourists need safety - if he said that, and I don't doubt that he did, he is right on both counts.

Sadly it doesn't necessarily mean that Spain will get tourists, in any volume, or that they will be safe unless restricted in what they can do.

We will all have to wait and see what travel looks like in the "to be" state.

Social distancing onboard aircraft is not possible due to the Nature of the operation and is also not a necessity.

All aircraft have modern HEPA filters installed that catch 99.99 % of all virii, and the air is recirculated every couple of minutes.

Basically, the virii are being sucked-up by the airconditioning/pressurisation system onboard. As a result, flying is actually safer and less risky than the bus or train, or even sharing a car with a stranger. (Eg. A taxi )

Wearing facemasks is obligatory, as is social distancing in the terminals ( remember, no airco and filters there ).

So much nonsense is being written about the “dangers” of flying, it almost feels like a conspiracy. And please don’t believe those “simulations”, they are totally false, and do not take into account the systems onboard, nor facemasks.

TUI in Belgium is now being absolutely swamped with bookings and requests for Spain holidays this Summer.

People want to travel and are fed-up, not scared. Maybe the UK is different, but I doubt it. The moment they can, people will book.

Why have you singled out the UK ? When this is a worldwide pandemic

It should be any country outside Continental Europe. The UK has too high an infection rate to allow them to come here without quarantine. Just wait until you get loads of people descending on Benidorm intent on drinking as much as they can. Will they be observing handwashing, why should they never did before? I have already seen someone urinating against a wall because they could not use a toilet. What facilities were there for handwashing? None! Will they be observing social distancing, for some time it will be necessary, perhaps until a vaccine is developed? I would not be surprised at an increase in infections after July. The weekend just before the Lockdown came in, Madrilenos who decided to come to their holiday homes, infections in the Valencia Comminidad doubled! We are still not free of the pandemic and should be cautious.

Totally agree, lockdown in the U.K. has been a joke with hundreds flocking to beaches and parks, will be even harder to enforce after the DC fiasco, sorry for those who have holiday homes here but in my opinion better to keep the borders closed for the safety of the Spanish citizens and residents.

Glad it's just not us holiday home owners getting stick for wanting to come out , I for one if I'm allowed, will not be getting drunk and urinating up the wall ! I just want to enjoy our house and respect any measures that will be in place and adhere to them,  if I'm not allowed to come I will respect that decision too ,let's just wait and see

We are missing our visits too.  I had a month there in January and am itching to get back.  If I am asked to go into quarantine (at my house) on arrival that's absolutely fine.  There's a lot of pleasure to be gained from lounging around on the patio/roof terrace, enjoying my Kindle content and soaking up some sun.  Bar life has no interest for me so can easily give them a miss.

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

And the yobs will be back in the U.K. after their holiday and we will all be back in lockdown as infections soar and deaths increase in a second surge.
