Is it possible to go to the local driving school and book a few lessons. It would be better than asking a driver who may have poor driving habits.

Go on the road at 6 am any morning when there is poor traffic and find your way - you are not invisible to others, just try to fit in....it isn't that terrible.

Hi, I was of the exact mind set as you. Unable to find Spanish lessons I rented a car for the minimum period, I think it was 3 days. I picked it up and returned it locally. I knew I couldn't take the airport run! Like someone suggested chose your time and area, Sunday is excellent too!. So I drove around where I knew, going at my pace, building up my confidence gradually. It might sound a bit daft but those arrows on the road are a godsend. So keep in mind just like the UK the driver is never at the path side of the car, keep to the traffic side, and you're OK. There is a Spanish theory practice test on line, which I recommend, I just googled it, you don't sign up or pay etc, but it helps to know what the Spanish road signs mean. So you are a little better informed. Take out annual excess cover in the UK about £50. So you don't get stung by the car rental. You have to carry your, UK driving licence, rental papers and passport with you when driving, which is a nuisance.  I know some say just a copy of your passport.  Some garages fill up for you, which I think is great. We don't get that in the UK and some supermarkets are adding a charge for this none service!! Good luck.

You try, English Driving School. They are based in La Marina. Aimed at those who have a licence, perhaps are not confident drivers, refresher, etc. You can call or try them on WhatsApp:
