That's a bit strange, unless they have shares in a bottled water company or it was 1965 :)

Some people don't like the taste of their particular tap water which is fine but doesn't mean it's not safe to drink, you'll find exactly the same in UK and most other civilised places.
It's equally possible of course that they are just dumb and don't know any better - like the said rep!
Judging by the sheer quantities of the stuff I see people loading their trolleys with it looks like some may be cooking with it too.
The only time I drink water from a bottle is when I've filled it myself from a tap in the first place.

Don't forget that some of us only receive agricultural water so we buy 6 huge bottles at a time. We don't cook with it but I do drink gallons of tea.

Spains tap drinking water is one of the worst to drink in Europe, see link, Ray D cant wait to bad mouth the UK as usual.
