Looking for advise.

my daughter is coming over with a 3 month old so will be making up formula. Could there be an issue using tap water ?or is there a special bottle water that can be used without the added minerals and what ever they put in it .she lives in a soft water area in uk so tap water is not an issue there thanks in advance .

I'm with Ray - tap water is perfectly OK.

Both of Margaret's rug-rats had it without any problem.

The only input (& I will only say, my opinion,  & I am not refering to babies). I have lived for many years with untreated water). High in calcium. I only drunk bottled water. There are many types, with & without minerals. For four months I now live in town high-chlorinated water. Same cal source, but, for me, I have noticed a big difference, only for my skin & hair(I still have all!) "sucking" out of the natural grease. (I must be getting delicate!). I don't thinks any diference as "some" locals drink, chlorine & all! The only calcium levels are high, but so is in other regions. I'll finish by saying, I'm no expert, & only like fizzy-bottled gas.(not butane!) Babies & adults seem.to thrive on all our water. V

The salts and Calcium are good for you. If you pour out tap water and leave it for a while the Chlorine will evaporate and you won't taste it.

Chlorine used in tap water is non-volatile, so letting it sit out will only evaporate water. The chlorine will remain in the liquid water, leaving a solution that is actually MORE concentrated with chlorine compounds that can harm eg: plants. ... Chlorine doesn't evaporate; it breaks down, aided by UV light (sunlight).

Regarding Hypercalcemia is a condition in which the calcium level in your blood is above normal. Too much calcium in your blood can weaken your bones, create kidney stones, and interfere with how your heart and brain work. Hypercalcemia is usually a result of overactive parathyroid glands.

I'd just make the observation that you shouldn't be alarmed by what Villas says. Most of us ingest a regular dose of chlorine - in the form of salt on our food.

Jim, I was hoping my observations were not alarmist. I did reiterate on my original answer,"Babies & adults seem.to thrive on all our water.".

The subsequent answers were in reference to Patrick62 (chlorine & calcium). I hope I helped.
