We don't drink torrevieja tap water because the local Spanish residents don't drink it. We assume they would drink it if it was ok.
Are you sure? I know quite a few who do.

Hi Dazz. Its true. When we first arrived here in Playa Los Locos, I was drinking both bottled water and tap water. My wife didn't think this was a good idea so she asked the local Spanish people who all said not to drink it. Something about soft minerals in it that are not dangerous but not very good for the body. Then I saw what seemed like everyone buying bottled water so I assumed we should avoid tap water. Thinking about it I don't think I have met anyone that does drink tap water. Sorry to confuse you.
Brian.

Hasn't all drinking water been sewage at some point? My understanding is that we have been recycling the same water since the beginning of time.
I'm probably wrong, it wouldn't be the first time.
You are absolutely right. There is the same amount of water on the planet now, as when dinosaurs mooched about. It's all recycled!

Does anyone on this forum want to hear the truth ?
It seems many ask questions and really only want the answer that suits them.

Me too. Humans basically spend all of their lives, turning water into water. I do my bit! V

Our planet is hit with 160,000 tons of ice every day. It contributes to rising sea levels which has nothing to do with global warming. This has been happening for billions of years. When the earth was formed it had no water and now it has lots. Probably to much. So not all our water is recycled. Does that help. Brian.

Yes the water is "safe" to drink but if you value your health, i would advise against doing so, especially if you have access to filtered and/or bottled water.
The municipal water supplies (and this includes the UK too) are loaded with environmental toxins and other poisons including fluoride and chlorine, as well as pesticides and other lovelies. If you get a water distiller and run a cycle, what is left at the bottom of the chamber is enough to turn y...

...our stomach. Ok so it's diluted in a gallon of water but even so.
Personally, filtered and/or bottled water is not only safer, but tastes so much better, and makes the food you use to cook with it or those cups of tea taste better too.
Even if i had my own water well i would filter it as you do not know what that water has come into contact with before it got to you.
Yes, if your dying of thirst then by all means knock yourself out. Otherwise, if you have the option to filter it, then do that as a default is my advice.
Agree, we have a Brita filter for tea and coffee and bottled water for drinking with squash or on it's own.
Having come from an area of the UK that has lovely "soft" water from the Elan valley I find the water here far too "hard" for my liking.
