Considering the weather is perfect for cycling here and the climate catastrophe we face, you would think there would be fewer smelly cars on the road and more cyclists. However, the opposite is true. Benijofar for example is grid-locked in the summer. Why do you think that is?

The cyclists here in Benidorm are the most annoying road users who don't know the rules of the road!! I've been nearly run into several times especially on pedestrian crossings where cyclists think they don't have to stop........

I see that you are an angry person Steve but please focus and answer the question correctly or don't answer at all. Thank you.

Not killing anyone though are they Steve (unlike you with your deaths on the road along with the global catastrophe, that you no doubt, don't believe in).

Such an ignorant reply. As Steve said most of the cyklists in Spain are the same as the rest of Europe, they seem to think they own the roads.

I find it much easier to drive to Madrid, Seville, Malaga by car than to cycle. And yes cycle riders also do not dismount when using zebra crossings

Ah, the eternal "cars are better than bikes, bikes are better than cars" debate!

I use both and I see examples of bad users of both on the roads. Let's all behave like grown ups and show some consideration to one another, whether on two wheels or four.

To answer the original question, many people are too old or immobile to use bikes, or just not comfortable enough to ride on the roads. I'm a cyclist, but I need my car for shopping in large amounts, to take elderly friends to places, to go to the airport, etc.

As for why the whole of the east coast of Spain is chokka with traffic in the summer, its not rocket science, is it? Half of northern Europe drives down here for their holidays!

Another brain washed citizen of the world, climate catastrophe my foot, do you really believe that, when all these governments are telling you to cut your carbon foot print they are doing the opposite, global propaganda, one moment it was the ozone layer with aerosols next global warming when that didn’t fool anyone they now call it climate change wonder what they’ll call it next.

And in answer to your question, it’s too dangerous to cycle and I prefer to walk or drive.

Hello

I agree with Steve, who is correct &  far from angry. You, however are unnecessarily rude!

Cheers
