BOOSTER/FLU INJECTION - Page 2

Hi  Unfortunately I chickened out and only got the Booster jab as I thought if I was going to have a reaction I would know which one caused it.  Also I can get the flu jab anytime.  Glad to say apart from a stiff arm I have been fine!!!!  There have been so many people having side effects and maybe coincidence had a really bad flu meaning they couldnt get out of bed for a few days which if I was affected would have been for a week!!!!! lol  Maybe get it soon  Gillian

As it was the first time we'd had the 'flu jab, we got ours in November, before going back to the UK for a visit; coincidentally, we were both really poorly a week before we travelled - very heavy cold symptoms and feeling exhausted, both in bed for 3 days.  We were convinced we had Covid, but tested negative from both an antigen and then a PCR test.  When we got back to Spain, we had our Covid-19 booster jabs in December.  Around the same time, I was reading a scientific article which reported that, because we haven't been mixing as usual, our immune systems haven't been challenged for some time.  Catching the Common Cold (which, like Covid-19, is a coronavirus), provides us with relatively brief immunity from recovery antibodies - anything from a couple of weeks to a couple of months maximum - so it seems that all we had in November was a Common Cold, but it was much worse than any we could previously remember and they may continue to be worse than usual, until our immune systems have had enough reminders about how to deal with them.
