Hi,

I’m new here and wanted to introduce myself.

My name is Christine, originally from Germany, moved 2008 to the UK, best decision I’ve ever made in my life, and have been living there for 15 years. I’ve made there lovely friends and miss them, but sometimes you need to move forward in life.

Anyway I somehow got the feeling I want to leave the UK, so there was the choice going back to Germany or moving to Spain, decided to go back to Germany, big mistake. Moved to Germany in April 2023 left Germany in November 2023 and now I’m here in Spain.

Currently I’m living in Fuengirola/Costa del Sol, but it is nearly impossible finding affordable long term apartments and the few ones on the market are really expensive, so I’ve decided moving to Torrevieja. My rental contract here ends at the end of March, and then I’m off to Torrevieja.

I’m working here in a call center, but unfortunately they want us to come in the office for at least two days per week (doesn’t make sense but heyho), so that means I need to find another job. I would not mind working again in a call center but maybe I’ll find something else. I’ve already applied for a couple of remote jobs, so positive thinking.

That’s my story. I’m sure I’ll meet a lot of nice people in Torrevieja and I’ve read there is somewhere line dancing, that’s what I always wanted to try J

I would like to apologize in advance, because I may have a couple of questions later, though I always try to find the answers on the internet, but I sometimes get mixed information from Google or I need information I can rely on and then it is the best asking people they live there.

Thank you for reading and I really look forward moving.

Christine

Hallo Christine, herzlich willkommen in Torrevieja. Linedance für Anfänger findet immer donnerstags um 19h in La Mata, Restaurant „Las Terrazas - Lupe y Jose“ statt. Vielleicht wäre das ja etwas für Dich. Das ist eine deutschsprachige Gruppe. VG Alexandra

Hi Henk, Thanks a lot. Seems you are a language expert :-) I want to learn Spanish, because the people are quite friendly. I fortunately have found a Spanish native she will teaching me, so can't wait to speak some simple sentences and to understand. Where are you from?

Maybe one question, in which areas of Torrevieja are the long term/permanent residents living because I'm not so keen to live in a building with only holiday flats around me and I don't need to live right at the seafront?
