Hola purple gran thank you so much for your response I appreciate it very much and I am still drawn to toraviaja even though I have never seen it but coming over in April just not sure whet would be a good place to stay that's not too expensive I'm always grateful for all information, I just wish I could take my time a bit more instead of the rush to do it all before December as I'm unsure what the monthly income will increase to that they want proof of as I will be retired. That's the stressy bit and a couple of other stressy bits are selling my house and finding a place over there maybe to rent first then of course the 3 months to apply for residencia phew what a ball ache

Hello Rose thankyou once again for that useful information I think I need to base myself in toraviaja to give me perhaps easier access to areas. I won't be pushed on buying anything as I need to be certain 200% I don't know anywhere that would be a base that's not going to cost me in endless taxi fares  but I am still hoping for April to visit

Hi jann thank you I will bear that in mind just don't want to feel pressured byy them as I have my house to sell but would consider renting once my house is sold as I need to be sure of everything

That basically rules out Orihuela Costa, the area from Punta Prima going south then, in my humble op

Talk to Alicante Dream Homes Anita, web site same name. Nothing like seeing what is available or possible. You set your requirements, they will match or map to it knowing the areas. Good luck and have fun.

Wishing you good luck Anita. Torrevieja is a wonderful place & I hope you enjoy your April trip. Check out the tourist office by the marina and pick up a map.
best wishes

Hi,

We come here in October until April every year and find everything open that we need except on Sundays which is understandable.  As you knew there is a high number of british in this area and most tavernas are open and those that are not open are usual big establishments which we probably wouldnt visit any way.  There is everything in this area for everyone but it still retains its spanish feel.
