Hi Steve6,

Like you and most others on this thread, I'm delighted with the announcement of Johnson's impending resignation this morning.  Given the further resignations from Conservative MPs since my last post (now totalling 60), it's ludicrous that BoJo will remain "caretaker" PM until October, but unfortunately that is current due process.  However, there are now numerous calls from Conservative Ministers and MPs for BoJo to step aside in favour of his deputy PM, Dominic Raab, to take the role until a replacement is appointed.

As important, an urgent question is being asked of the Minister for the Cabinet Office in the Commons this morning regarding the "functioning of Government" to address the crisis facing our country because of the number of Ministerial resignations.

Kind regards,

Kim

I am more than happy for the UK to "weedle" out the dross. I am more worried about "what's going to replace them". Sensible answers accepted please. V

Hi Villas,

I've just been watching the Minister for the Cabinet Office answering an urgent question in the Commons about the ongoing functioning of Government.  There were no sensible answers from him - despite cross-party MPs telling him that Bill Committees are being cancelled because the relevant department Ministers have resigned, the Cabinet Office Minister believes it's "business as usual".

We're supposed to hear a resignation statement from BoJo in the next hour, so hopefully the more important matters will start to be addressed after that.

Kind regards,

Kim

The most remarkable thing about this thread, is not that Bojo clings to power, but that folk on here actually believe he's done a good job and that every previous PM was in some way worse than this charlatan, crook, thief and sex pest.

Brainwashed to a North Korean level.

Hi 20kiki,

The Conservative backbenchers' 1922 Committee is holding elections on Monday - if BoJo hasn't bowed to the calls from his party to leave sooner than October, his backbenchers could change the rules to force another no-confidence vote - and I think we know how that would play out.  Hopefully, even BoJo wouldn't want to suffer that further humiliation 🤞😉

Kind regards,

Kim

“The whole thing is unbelievable. As I write these words, The Prime Minister is still holed up in Downing Street.

“He is like some illegal settler in the Sinai desert, lashing himself to the radiator, or like David Brent haunting The Office in that excruciating episode when he refuses to acknowledge that he has been sacked.

“Isn't there someone – the Queen's Private Secretary, the nice policeman on the door of No 10 – whose job it is to tell him that the game is up?”

I changed the details from GORDON BROWN to THE PRIME MINISTER

This is what Boris Johnson wrote in 2010....does it look familiar?

I know there's a lot of hate for the Tories, however Labour's recently announced they back Hard Brexit in case you missed it.

What this means is that should they get back in charge, there is zero chance of any return to freedom of movement and we're stuck with 90 days maximum stay in Europe.
