If you go Online Google and Download Modelo EX-18 as a PDF document, fill in your details and print off a copy, at the bottom tick the box called "Cese" and write "Vuelta a pais de origen" and "por venta de viviend" if you've sold your Spanish property.

Take the completed form, your passport, a copy of your passport, your Residencia document, a copy of your Residencia document to the Town Hall where you obtained your Residencia from the Policia Nacional. Your Residencia will be cancelled and you will obtain a form stating this

This needs to be done for each person that wishes to cancel their Residencia.

When you get back to UK, you can swap your Spanish driving licence for a UK one, free of charge. You don't need to inform Tráfico in Spain, because the DVLA will do that.

I am just doing this right now, having cancelled my residencia last week as described in previous comments.

Geoff

I drive in England but have never driven here, so at least don't have to worry about that. I do need to find out how long my police appointment will take, don't want my medical cover to finish too early. Was it easy to end your residency? And how did you end your SIP?

Anne

I haven't done anything with our SIP cards yet.

I think technically you should hand them in at your local health centre, but friends of ours who tried to do that were greeted with a shrug of the shoulders and they departed Spain with their SIP cards!
