Back to the Ehic card or whatever it is called now. We have had occasion to go to what I would describe as a health centre La Mata. Upon arrival, we had to produce the Ehic cards and if I remember properly our passports. I believe this provided 3 months medical care. I think we were supposed to do this whenever we were staying in Spain. We haven’t done so since then but always carry our cards when in Spain. We also have annual travel insurance of course
We did go over to hospital Quiron last winter when my husband was unwell. They charge €250 for an emergency consultation. Expensive but worth it when necessary.
