Non resident tax
Apologies if this has been covered several times (newbie). Apart from the SUMA what is the annual % for non-residence tax for property owners?
Thank you in advance for any replies.

As this tax is backdated, when when pay this December, do we still pay 19% as we're paying for 2020. We'll then pay 24% next year?

It’s now 24% x 2% of cadastral value - this value will/should be on your remittance for the Suma tax payment

Hi Steve it is 24% now after Brexit but its not 2% for everyone if you have had your cadastral value updated in last 10years. In that instance it stays at 1% from revaluation for 10 years. In 2018 we were astonished at receiving an invoice for over 1000+€ for our Suma. On investigation we discovered they had revalued and backdated it for 4years. So although our direct debit had been paying 126€ to Suma each year now the revaluation of 349€ per annum required the additional 220€ per year plus the extra for that year. So now our Suma is nearly 3times what it had been. Incidentally we have received our calculation for this year's non resident tax from Anger Services and its same as last year 240€ for 2020, this suggests it doesn't rise until next year to 24%.

Thank you to all for taking the time to respond. We paid the SUMA when we purchased the property last year so will ask the solicitor what the cadastral value is as we haven’t had this years SUMA bill yet.
