Hi Kimmy11, wow , thank you, If this is correct (and I’m sure it is) why the heck couldn’t my solicitor have said that in the first place ? So that particular panic is over, thank you so much, this forum is a godsend , it’s really been so helpful with people like you and Jim and quite a few others giving great advice ( okay I’ll stop gushing now ) and I don’t know how I haven’t found this out my self, think I’m over Googled 🙄 , any way thank you again 👍

It's correct, but not very well worded.
You'll pay the tax for the proportion of 2018 in which you owned the property, and payment can be made at any time up to the end of 2019.
Have you actually appointed the solicitor to do this? That might be OK if you're paying a flat annual fee to do everything you require, but otherwise it would probably be far more expensive than the €20 I referred to earlier.

Karol it was really really easy but I would suggest ask your solicitor to email you a copy of your deeds. It will have you nie number, catestral value etc and all the paperwork you will need in the future and saves you having to go back and get charged for copy documents x

Hi Kimmy, so just to get this straight, I will owe from August up to now yes ? Or the former owner should have paid from January to December 2018, ? AndI am trying to make sense of the copies I have here, I don’t have the original yet.

many thanks Kim its great that there are people like you on this forum. lt brings peace of mind when youre in the UK and worried with no one to ask !
Kimmy is right in what he says BUT if you bought in April 2018 it was the responsibility of your solicitor to ensure that all debts including Non Resident Tax were paid and cleared by the previous owner otherwise it is my understanding that the debt is yours.

Hi there,
I'm also wondering about this and wondering if it's easy enough to do online myself or if there is anyone who could show me how to do it.
Thanks
