Hi , our 80L Delta electric hot water boiler after 6 years seems to be finished . Everytime we plug it in it trips the electric , does anybody know the reason for this? It was only 89 euro so if we have to replace it can anyone recommend anyone to fit the new one ? I know its not a big job I think we only paid 40 euro originally

Thanks Steve

Hi Steve,

To get 6 years out of an electric boiler is pretty good going.  They're just like giant kettles and the element inside gets furred up over time.  Ours did the same thing and started tripping the electricity.

My husband bought a new boiler from our nearest "electro domesticos" store and fitted it himself (he changed the flexible hoses whilst he was at it) and he was surprised how easy it was to do, although if it's up high, you'll probably need a second pair of hands to help put it into position.  Alternatively, I'm sure the boiler supplier could arrange or recommend a fitter.

Kind regards,

Kim
