Hiya everyone. After speaking with family who were wanting to move to Spain I had an idea.

Obviously they can't just up and move here now since Brexit. However, I was reading that British passport holders can move to Gibraltar without the need of a visa. Why don't we now start to put this as a recommendation for all the people who ask about relocating here but have no idea of how difficult it now is to do?

I appreciate its still UK territory and the lifestyle is different but it's a lot closer to a Spanish life style in the sun than the UK and day/week trips over the border is easy or you can even drive to Portugal in a few hours for a weekend away.

Yea but people who want to move to work usually rent. If someone has that money to spend on a studio chances are they will be able to get a NLV.

In addition to the price of purchasing property in Gibraltar according to www.numbeo.com if you rented you would need €5230 in Gibraltar to maintain the same standard of living that €3100 would buy you in Alicante.

Rent prices are 185.3% higher, Consumer prices are 30%, restaurant prices 43.3%, and grocery prices 36%.

For most only if you worked there would it make financial sense, far cheaper to go for an NLV for Spain.

Yes but I mean go there to work. Wages are higher so it would cover the costs. People do work there as waiters and pay their bills. Can't be any worse than the UK's cost of living crisis that's being talked about in the news and on TV

A lot of people who work in Gib actually live in Spain and cross the border each day, it's cheaper!
