How come you advertising your company when this is supposed to be a free forum for advise .English TV yet your charging for installing to by what I read

I hadn't noticed that I was advertising.

I am a consultant and do work for a few companies. Generally testing and researching. Giving you the benefit of the experience of a professional who has spent 12+ years in telecoms and 5 years dealing with such matters of testing streams, boxes, software, apps etc. I am asked to check systems often new hardware before rolled out and software implementation.

One of the companies I do work for - Television Technology, who are a local, install fibre optic system and TV satellite systems for individuals and communities - basically anything to do with expatriate TV - English and otherwise. IPTV is just another TV service.

So, you can have the advice of the bloke down the pub, or the guy who gets paid to review and test systems for a number of different companies services and products.

The advice I placed above, is on the money - whether you wish to agree or believe, is up to you - won't affect my income, it's not as if i'm on commission!

Why do people expect everything for free - have you never heard of paying for a service or technicians time - advice is free, but if you needed someone to fix your satellite dish, you would be best to employ the services of a technician and like most people - they need to earn a living as do most companies!

Sums it up Android TV  - best system for those that don't watch TV ;-)

Just wait until that football game you want to watch falls over / freezes - often.

Still, you can't beat free is it is the cheapest.

All I know is probably 95% of the people I dealt with YEARS ago on XBMC / Kodi have since thrown their boxes out of the window & i've seen the support emails, so a distraction, but I wouldn't contemplate for a main TV device. Home hobbyist for those with patience - fims maybe, live TV sports, asking for issues - then wait until you have to update software or apps & you soon realise this is not a home product for the average user.

I found you spend as much time faffing around getting it to work as watching TV - nothing is perfect? This is furthest from it - perhaps people have more patience than I do. 100% if you are not technically minded or patient - you will come unstuck pretty quickly. I have never seen a TV product that requires more support, ever.

It is NOT illegal to watch UK TV via satellite (or any other countries tv) in Spain. Especially free to air channels, like BBC ITV C4 and Five (and makes no difference if you pay the uk tv tax or not as that only applies to the uk! As long as you abide by the tv tax / licence laws for the country you are living in, you can watch tv from any country you want, totally legally).

Nor is it illegal to use a Sky UK card in Spain either (in domestic residence only, much different for commercial premises), but it may be against the T&Cs of use (EU ruling a few years ago)

And Sky do operate in Spain : www.sky.es - their internet TV service has been running for a while now.

And as they have a UK Ofcom license (although Brexit may change that and they have to get a licence in another of the countries they operate in (German, Italy, Spain), they can freely operate in the whole of Europe, should they and the channels that are on their package buy the correct broadcaster rights.

Rodders

I can only assume you have not seen all the adds on the right hand side of every page we pay for advertising to help keep the site up. Most people recommend a Company or a service if you need TV of any kind we can help we do not push it down anyone throat and my comments on Fire Sticks have be reiterated by TV Technology.

Hope that answers your question.

I get all UK TV and Sky Movies etc etc but I did need to config a VPN on my Firestick to get a UK IP. Pretty easy as been doing this for 5+ years.

Hi I bought tv box ,it's a kodi box although the vendor said it wasn't ,I answered an add in the paper paid 195 euros for a load of rubbish ,it's not too bad for films although picture quality is not the best but sport is ridiculous it runs for seconds and then freezes ,I only bought it for the sport but it's absolutely useless ,I already pay for tv but now the bar takes my cash as well.

Above - the same price as 'Harry's Netbox' - which it may well be. Uses the freely available streams, with apps and a base of re-skinned Kodi.

It's quite simple - WHATEVER ANYONE SAYS. There is no such thing as good and stable free sports - you can find it out there, you can have various apps (which all search the same resources), but the key point is this:

If you don't pay for it & there is no service provider, you have no fallback.

If an unmonitored service on the internet, with no knowledge of how many people on servers = zero guarantees of stability or availability. No customer service support, as no control over the content.

These things can & do work - but sometimes, not all the time & certainly not with any form of guarantee at all. If the guy selling you the box doesn't have any link to the service itself, how can any promise be made?

Amateurs and non-professional entities & pretending by selling dreams of the best = the cheapest. Where in the real world does this bear out true?

I would use Kodi for one thing only, watching movies - I wouldn't consider for live content. Even watching movies, often used to take me 5 or 6 goes on the streaming lists film before I found one that worked. Anything that approached live TV that worked and a stable EPG, in years I never felt worked well enough for the average homes user to find acceptable or reliable enough. It's not even that much use as a backup device, as if box/Kodi & apps are not updated for a few months, you'll plug the box in and if half the apps work you'll be lucky.

I think the problem is I spent too much time looking at Kodi for support & seen the level of issue and frustration caused to clients, so I understand people's inherent frustration with technology, as I had to deal with this type of feedback. People want simple & stable. This ain't it!
